Description
The Certificate of Mastery in Effective Leadership is (CMEL) program is a blended program that includes several program elements: online coursework, a virtual instructor-led training event, and a final capstone project. To earn the Certificate of Mastery in Effective Leadership (CMEL) micro-credentialing, all program elements must be completed.
Online Coursework Begins: March 23, 2026
Virtual Event: Thursday, April 30, 2026, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm CST
Final Project: Due on or before May 30, 2026

Enhance your leadership capabilities and confidently lead your team through change with this comprehensive blended micro-credentialing program that combines online coursework, an in-person or virtual meeting, and a capstone project. This program is designed to review and apply effective leadership practices. Upon completing this program, leaders will be equipped to reflect and make informed decisions that drive change in their organizations
The program provides an opportunity to connect with future CMELs through interactive online forums to discuss investing in yourself, building credibility, leading others, and driving change. The program allows ample time for questions during the in-person event and helps you develop a solution for your own facility through the final capstone project.

Please ensure you have a computer running Windows or macOS, a webcam, headphones, and a reliable internet connection for the best interactive experience. AHE is not responsible for your Zoom compatibility and may not be able to provide technical assistance during the program.
Cancellations
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to ahe@aha.org. All requests must be submitted no less than 15 business days prior to the start of the program. The refund will be subject to a $300 cancellation fee. No refund or credit will be issued for requests submitted 15 business days or fewer prior to the start of the program. No refunds can be issued if program content has been accessed.
