Description
AHE September 2026 Certificate of Mastery in Infection Prevention (CMIP)- Blended In-Person and Online Education The Certificate of Mastery in Infection Prevent (CMIP) program is a blended program that includes several program elements: online coursework, an in-person instructor-led training event, and a final capstone project. The CMIP program cultivates the knowledge required to coordinate and align efforts across the care team to implement infection prevention strategies to improve outcomes. This comprehensive program translates an Infection Preventionist's knowledge into the real-world day-to-day environment of care operations. It explores the most critical topics in infection prevention, including microbiology and epidemiology; patient and health care worker safety; surveillance, risk assessment, and outbreaks; antimicrobial stewardship; evidence-based cleaning practices and environmental monitoring; and infection prevention during construction and emergencies.

Capstone project: due on or before November 22nd, 2026
To earn the Certificate of Mastery in Infection Prevention (CMIP) micro-credentialing, all program elements must be completed. Technical Requirements Please ensure you have a computer running Windows or macOS, and a reliable internet connection for the best interactive experience. Cancellations Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to ahe@aha.org. All requests must be submitted no less than 15 business days prior to the start of the program. The refund will be subject to a $300 cancellation fee. No refund or credit will be issued for requests submitted 15 business days or fewer prior to the start of the program.
