Description
High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles extend beyond the clinical setting to standardize health care processes through the de-stigmatization of failures, finding the true, root cause of issues, a keen sensitivity to operations, a commitment to resilience and a regard for expertise. Working through each of the principles can lead a supply chain department to new processes and improvements that spread throughout the organization. With new facility construction, industry-wide product shortages, and changing regulatory dynamics, NYU Langone Health Supply Chain adopted the High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles and took a prominent transformational lead to support clinical needs and drive quality patient outcomes. In this webinar, we will discuss NYU Langone supply chain’s driving force of transformation starting with HRO education and concept training, to action-oriented committees and project specific development, planning and implementation. As an overall result of their solution to help monitor inventory in a real time active environment and their commitment to become a high reliability organization, NYU Langone has seen vast operational improvements, has access to in-depth reporting (enabling them to take a more analytical and holistic view of inventory) and is able to forecast risk. Significant savings and increased performance improvement among the workforce has been tracked with the HRO mindset and more time is available to proactively concentrate on par level monitoring, expiration management, inventory turns and reducing/eliminating stock outs. Learning Objectives: - Describe what it means and what it takes to be a high reliability organization.
- Apply organizational change management techniques within Inventory Management.
- Explain how a technology-based approach should be used to optimize a strategic approach to inventory management.
Presenters: - Kenneth Scher, Vice President, Nexera
- Vincent Matozzo, Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing & Value Aanlysis
- Mark Negron, Senior Director, Supply Chain Integration, Transformation & Data Analytics
