AHE Webinar Series 2019: Improving Value Through Evidence-Based Training

The American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Value Initiative is focused on finding new ways to better tell the story of how hospitals and health systems are innovating to improve value. One way facilities are improving both value and outcomes is through the Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) training and certification program, offered by the Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE), a professional membership group of the AHA. Collaborating with health care systems across the country who have CHEST trained and certified front line teams, AHE is collecting and analyzing data around key measures such as infection rates, HCAHPs scores, turnover, and employee engagement. In this program we will share data findings associated with these measures and present case studies outlining how evidence-based training and consistency in environmental services practice promotes value and leads to improved care outcomes.

AHE Webinar Series 2019: The 3 M's of Temperature and Humidity: Monitoring, Measuring, and Mitigating

In hospitals, pharmaceutical compounding centers, and other sensitive healthcare environments, one of the biggest threats to patient health is the spread of pathogens. The temperature and humidity of an area can affect exposure to viruses, bacteria, pollen, and fungi, which all pose hazards to patients and care providers and can compromise critical spaces like operating rooms and other procedure areas. This webinar will examine how one facility helped ensure compliance with temperature and humidity policies and procedures, and increased understanding of cause and effect relationships to the overall health of our environment, our people, and our processes.
