Description

Overview:
  • While value analysis remains an important part of standard operating procedures in other industries, only recently is it becoming a part of the business of healthcare. While the value analysis conversation has historically centered on cost savings, more and more hospitals are beginning to realize that clinical evidence for their supply chain decisions must be an important part of this conversation. A physician chair and a clinician manager of a robust and successful Value Analysis Committee at a large IDN in the northeast will discuss the importance of physician engagement in the value analysis process, the critical need for clinical evidence to balance the conversation and keep physicians engaged, challenges to finding the most valuable information for making decisions, and the outcomes of those decisions.
Learning Objectives:

  • Explain why clinical evidence is an important part of the value analysis conversation.
  • Discover strategies to deal with the challenges in finding the right clinical evidence to keep your physician engaged.
