Course Overview: As a result of recent legislation and national developments, change is underway! The final rule was published on January 16, 2009 which illustrates the call for adoption of ICD-10 to replace ICD-9-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10 PCS to replace ICD-9-CM Volume 3 (procedure codes). Are you prepared?  Supply chain professionals continue to face payment reforms (refinement in DRGs, bundled payments, controls over fee-for-service), an increase in audits relating to the quality of care, and performance adjustments. We hope you are aware and recognize that medical coding sits right in the middle of clinical care and reimbursement; therefore including the transition to ICD-10 is necessary in preventing:  cash flow delays, coding and billing backlogs, unintended shifts in payments and much more.
