Description

This monograph shares findings from a study of governing physician organizations in developing systems of care. The study is among the first to explore this work from the perspective of physicians, who talk candidly about issues and challenges and provide insights about the evolution of physician involvement in governance and leadership at a historic moment of change in health care.
This report also includes information about other related structures, such as leadership councils and clinical program committees that play an important role in creating and supporting new models of care delivery. Major sections of this report include summaries of key learnings from the study and questions physician organizations can use to assess how their own organization’s governance and leadership measure up.
