AHA Annual Survey Database™ is an invaluable database for market research reports and health care industry analysis on hospitals  in a CD format.  It identifies important health care trends with comprehensive hospital survey data including more than 1,000 data fields of reported and estimated data on 6,500 hospitals surveyed about their FY 2010 operations and much more.

Data includes information on demographics, organizational structure, facilities and services, utilization data, community benefit indicators, physician arrangements, managed care relationships, expenses, and staffing.  New in this release are data on the total number of physicians with shared responsibility for risk, supply expenses, staffing vacancies, privileged physicians by type of relationship, total number of hospitalists and intensivists, advance practice registered nurses and distributors.

The CD includes 3 file formats:  ascii flat file, ascii delimited and MS Access with accompanying documentation book to be used with a database management program like SPSS or SAS.

This database can be used to:

• Extract Structure and organizational information to compare and benchmark selected hospitals
• Identify which services are delivered by a hospital or through another organization in the area
• Evaluate opportunities for new service lines
• Combine with historical hospital data sets (since 1980) for time-series analyses and forecasts
